Spill The Beads
So let's get into it
It is a good idea to learn the variety of beads available for these collars. Here I will educate you on all the bead types and how well they hold up.

Solid acrylic beads are colorful beads that hold up really well to everyday wear and are used the most in my designs. The shine can fade but majority of these beads won't fade in color. They can scratch but the look is minimal unless up close. (available in all sizes of beads 12-20mm)

Marbled beads can resemble various crystals and other natural stones due to their unique colors and patterns. These beads hold up very well and the color does not fade.
(available in all sizes of beads 12-24mm)

Resin beads are offer a high end look and feel with amazing clarity and shine. More durable and resistant to scratching than acrylic beads.
(available in all sizes of beads 12-20mm)

Acrylic pearl beads are imitation pearls made from acrylic. They are super lightweight and have a nice glossy finish. They are prone to scratch easily and can hold up to some wear but are not recommended for daily wear.
(available in all sizes of beads 12-25mm)

Resin Rhinestone beads are the bling ones that can glam up any design or add some extra to it. These hold up well but the shine of the rhinestones can lose their luster.
(available in all sizes of beads 12-20mm)

Printed beads can be both acrylic or silicone. Since it is printed on the bead there is definite potential to fade off especially if worn regularly.
(available in all sizes of beads 12-20mm)

Silicone beads are soft and slightly squishy along with being super lightweight. Available in a variety of different styles from round to focal silicone beads that are shapes and designs. These hold up really well but due to the nature of the bead they can attract dirt and hair to stick to the bead. You can easily rinse them off but they are prone to be like a magnet for lint, dirt and hair.
(available in all sizes of beads 12-35mm)

Keep in mind that if you use topical flea treatment on your pet there is a chance that can ruin majority of the beads you just learned about. Due to the ingredients in those treatments it can strip the color and shine from the beads. It is best to make sure to remove the collar and allow the pet to be completely dry before wearing the collar. Also be aware that some grooming products that contain oils can remove shine from beads or even transfer color from the beads to the dogs coat if they are light colored. The coated cable can also transfer with these grooming products. It is best to keep collars off when groomed and until your pet is dry.

All bead types are waterproof and can be worn in water activities. Be sure to rinse after to ensure the longevity of the beads and the hardware on the collar. I recommend hand washing collars regularly or after use. I wash mine with a little hand soap and warm water then air dry.
**I DO NOT RECOMMEND using the dishwasher to clean these as the heat from the water can melt the glue from the end covers of the collar. A simple hand wash will do the trick and keep your collars not only lookin good but also lasting a lot longer.
